Kallinyalla is an iconic business to Port Lincoln, open since 1968, servicing the Eyre Peninsula community for over 50 years!

‘Kallinyalla’ is the local Aboriginal name for Port Lincoln. It also means ‘a place of birds and water’.

Kallinyalla Nursery was purchased by Stephan and Leonie Ebert on the 1st July 2016 and re-named Kallinyalla Garden Centre. In 2020 Stephan celebrated over 40 years at the garden centre, providing valuable gardening knowledge and expertise.

As a member of Garden Centres SA, we know all you need to know about your garden, we offer the advice, inspiration, products and service you need to satisfy that green thumb. We provide a great choice of plants and products selected for SA gardeners, from SA growers. We offer local advice, and provide a wide range of plants for you to use as inspiration in creating your home garden – both indoors and outdoors.

Kallinyalla Kurves was established April 2020 and is Leonie’s little side business to the garden shop! For over 30 years Leonie dreamed of owning and operating a fashion business. Meet our friendly team…..


Proprietor Stephan has over 40 years gardening experience, and his knowledge is invaluable!  He gives friendly, expert advice to all customers and has a Certificate IV in Horticulture.  His vast understanding of local areas, is an asset to keen growers and gardening enthusiasts.



Proprietor Leonie began working at Kallinyalla Garden Centre after purchasing the business in 2016 with her husband Stephan. Leonie’s vibrant personality and skill set plays a key role with all administrative duties including HR, accounts and ordering of all giftware lines.  In 2020 Leonie setup a new fashion and accessory business in store and online Kallinyalla Kurves!



Peter started work at Kallinyalla Garden Centre in 2011 and has a Certificate III in Horticulture. Peter’s vast knowledge & keen interest in gardening, especially succulents, makes him a valuable member of our team!



Carmen has been working in the garden industry for over 35 years.  She joined the Kallinyalla team in 2016 and has a Certificate in Amenity Horticulture. Her knowledge and interest in Ornamental Gardens & Indoor Plants plays a key role in helping customers thrive with their plant journey!



Sarah joined the team in December 2019 and has a passion and flair for social media and marketing! Her bubbly personality and creativeness shine and is evident throughout her work, especially on all our social media platforms! If she’s not on the computer or her phone, you’ll spot her in the garden centre taking endless photos, re-arranging the pots and helping Leonie with the fashion!



In October 2020 we welcomed Nina to our growing gardening team! The biggest smile, friendly can do attitude and a willingness to learn and help others is what makes Nina shine! You will find her working on the weekend at the garden centre, helping out with all aspects of the shop, and during the week she focuses on her school studies.



Jess joined the garden centre team in October 2022! Jess aims to complete her Certificate III in Horticulture throughout 2023 to further her knowledge and skills within the garden industry. Jess is an Eyre Peninsula local and LOVES plants, especially indoor plants!!! Growing veggies and all things permaculture related are also some of Jess’s key interests! Her friends certainly refer to her as ‘the crazy plant lady’ which suits us just fine!
